Well, happy day, today is my birthday, my 38th birthday to be exact.  As I get closer to 40, I realize that I am hitting the age where women start thinking about lying about their age.  I may eat my words one day, but I can never imagine not being truthful about my age.  There is something so wildly wrong about doing that, in my opinion.  It’s taken 38 years to get to this point in my life and, by lying, I’d wonder what part of the journey I’d have to deny.  There has been so much rich living up until this point and, honestly, I’d not want to omit any of it…even the dark times.  .   Sure, I have had some moments I’d rather forget, however, as I look back on them, I realize that the bad made the good possible.  Everything is important.

I am proud to be 38 today.

What are you proud of about yourself that society tells you that you shouldn’t be?

And, speaking of this…my biggest birthday wish today is that you tune in tomorrow for our “Where Are You Going In That?” radio show from 12pm-1pm EST!  We’ll be interviewing the AMAZING Wendy Shanker who is the author of “The Fat Girl’s Guide to Life” and “Are You My Guru: How Medicine, Madonna and Meditation Saved My Life.”  If you haven’t read Wendy’s books, read them!  During tomorrow’s show, my co-host Amanda Jornov and I will be chatting with Wendy about body image, learning to love the body you are living in now (not 20lbs. from now) and how to exist comfortably in your own skin, with power, passion and a sense of humor.

Regardless of what society says…loving yourself, as you are, is a choice you can make, right now!

So, what are you waiting for?
