Unless you are painting a house, doing construction work or going as a toddler for Halloween, there is no good reason to wear overalls if you are an adult. Yet, the overalls trend is back with a vengeance.
I will admit, I wore overalls in the 90’s along with flannel shirts, Doc Martens, thermal shirts and every other trend that was hot during the decade. Yes, I did it all…and I was also in my 20’s back then; the age of experimenting and stupidity.
According to Shine.Yahoo.com, celebrities and designers are all over the overalls speaking out in favor of the bib style look that flatters NOBODY.
In some respects, when I see girls who didn’t live through the trend the first time, I understand why they think they are new and cool and hip. I can give these girls a pass because, for them, this is all new fashion terrain. However, for those who are old enough to remember them, who have photographic evidence of themselves looking ghastly in them when they were twenty years younger, who have chosen to embrace them again, well, it’s just weird.
My mom always said, “If you did a trend once, when it comes back again, you never do it again.” In this case I have to agree with her. I mean, take a look at some of these celebrities wearing overalls and tell me if any of them look remotely good in them?
Celebrities wearing the overalls trend…badly
Accessorizing with sand toys, Jack Black looks like a large four year old.
I’m not sure if we can count these as classic overalls. Even done slutty-style, overalls still look stupid…even on Cameron Diaz.
Regis better be going somewhere that required a hoedown costume. Otherwise, this shouldn’t even be legal.
Oh, come on! David Hasselhoff, as if you’re not enough of a joke already.
