If jeans and a tee is a part of your regular style repertoire, today’s post is definitely one you will want to check out. I’m giving my tips on how to accessorize a white t-shirt and jeans.
This type of a casual look may be an easy weekend outfit to wear but without any accessories it can get boring. Plus, with just a few changes, it is easy to wear jeans and a t-shirt super casually or dressed up. Think of this outfit as the base and the accessories as the part that makes the looks interesting. Check out the five outfit below that go from super casual to dressy, using this basic white t-shirt from J. Crew and jeans from my favorite jeans brand, Levi’s, to show all the different ways you can change up this staple look.
Outfit #1
Jeans and a t-shirt is perfect for super casual weekend plans. In this outfit, I layered a relaxed cardigan from Modcloth over the tee and added these stylish olive sneakers from Anthropologie. For a punch of novelty, I used this printed tote from Echo design and finished the look with a yellow and grey necklace from Kenneth Cole.
Outfit #2
In this outfit, I elevated the look slightly from the last one using a pair of oxfords from Modcloth, a purple printed infinity scarf, purple leather strap bracelet from LaLucca, navy handbag from Fossil and gold earrings from Stella & Dot. The scarf brings some flattering color near the face while not over complicating the ease of the look. If a scarf feels too fussy you can swap it out for a colorful necklace, instead.
Outfit #3
When wearing a v-never sweater over a white t-shirt, like the outfit is styled here with this sweater from Boden, some additional touches of accessories can make a huge difference. Here, these coral ballerina flats from Lucky Brand add some pop to the outfit, while working well with the color of the sweater, and the outfit is finished with a bib necklace from Bauble Bar and silver handbag from Vince Camuto.
Outfit #4
Throwing a blazer over a t-shirt and jeans can make this basic outfit look more polished. In some casual work environments it can even be worn. Here, I used this camel blazer from J. Crew and kept it elegant and neutral using this scarf from Jonathan Adler, a pair of nude patent leather flats and a burgundy Brahmin bag. For jewelry, I finished the outfit with a pendant necklace from Max & Chloe and stacked bracelet from Nordstrom.
Outfit #5
In this last look, the outfit is ready for a fun night out with this beaded jacket from Fench Connection and dressier accessories. I added this pair of black strappy heels from BCBG, a black bag from Rebecca Minkoff, chandelier earrings from Max & Chloe and studded bracelet from Banana Republic.
While the base of an outfit, like a white t-shirt and jeans, is important, it’s even more important to remember your accessories. As you can see, having them on hand can make a huge difference in getting more with less and changing up your looks with ease, no matter what your plans are.
I love this post! So much of my wardrobe is simple and neutral and sometimes I’m not sure how to add color. This is fantastic!
I know this is an older post, but this has helped me so much! I wear a uniform at work, so I don’t have to think about fashion most of the time. I end up wearing jeans a t-shirt during my time off, but this gives me ideas of how I can upgrade my wardrobe and look without spending a fortune or buying a ton of stuff I will end up not wearing.
