If you don’t like to wear white jeans until after Memorial Day, well, you’ll be able to break them out after this weekend.  Of course, most of us can agree, it’s a stupid rule with an unclear origin.  In fact, one client of mine has been wearing white jeans for a month now.

Regardless of when you plan on breaking out your white jeans, if you plan on wearing them at all, there are so many ways you can wear them.  Just like your classic blue jeans, you can wear white jeans from work to weekend along with everything in between.  It all depends on how you style them.  Below, check out these three very different looks using the same pair.

White Jeans for Work, Weekend and In-Between

White jeans for work

For a professional outfit, using these white jeans from J. Crew, I added work appropriate pieces to elevate the look of the jeans.  This is the key point when wearing jeans to work, everything needs to look professional to upgrade the casual nature of the denim.

In the outfit above, I used the short sleeve version of my favorite shirt from Hugo Boss in red, added this textured navy blazer from Reiss, a comfortable pair of peep toe wedges from Cole Haan and accessorized the look with a bracelet from House of Harlow, delicate necklace from Stella & Dot and off white handbag from Rebecca Minkoff.

It should go without saying, white jeans for work are only appropriate when it is acceptable to wear jeans to your workplace.  No matter how professional you make, do not wear them unless you have been given permission.

White jeans for socializing

Using the same white J. Crew jeans, I created a new look for socializing, be it a fun dinner out with friends, a daytime party, or whatever is on your social calendar.  It’s not a super dressy look but also not one you would wear to run to the grocery store or take the kids to the park.

For the outfit, I added this fun pink high-low hem top from Vince Camuto, that has convenient butt coverage, a pair of versatile gold wedges from Coach, a statement pendant necklace from Steve Madden and the same Rebecca Minkoff bag.

White jeans for weekend

This last white jeans outfit is for the days when you are taking the kids to the park, running errands or just want to look casually nice.  You aren’t going anywhere special necessarily, but you don’t want to look like a slob either.  Using the same white J. Crew jeans, I added this basic soft blue t-shirt from Boden and accessorized it with a pair of blue and green sandals from Anthropologie, a lightweight printed scarf from Nic + Zoe, hammered hoop earrings from Julie Vos and the Rebecca Minkoff bag again.
