I grew up on Whidbey Island in Washington State. I hated the town I grew up in, but I loved the island itself. The beaches there are gorgeous. Even though the water was only warm enough to swim in for about one month a year. I took my dogs to the beach several times a week, even in the winter.
Alas there was one constant annoyance: sand. When I’d bring my cocker spaniels back to the house I’d have to brush them in the backyard and yet there was always a little sand in the carpet. I was vacuuming at least three times a week.
