This is the time of year when wearing sequin is full-on embraced.  It’s festive, cheery and bright and says, “Let’s party!”  Not only do the holidays cheer sequins, sequin is currently a trend.  Is it ever not?

How to Wear a Little Sequin in a Look

Not everyone wants to drip themselves in sequins.  When it comes to them, a little goes a long way.  If you are looking to add some sequin to a look in a smaller, less intrusive, see your outfit from space, way, check out these five looks I put together.

Outfit #1

sequin

I got inspired to create this look when I saw a girl on Pinterest wearing a sequin pencil skirt with a plaid button down shirt.  I liked the way the plaid toned down the glitziness of the sequins.

I styled this skirt from Chelsea28 with a chambray shirt from Caslon.  Finishing the look, I added these burgundy and blush pumps from Enzo Angiolini, a burgundy clutch from Nordstrom and statement necklace from Bauble Bar.

Outfit #2

Next, this fun little sequin jacket from Parker that can dress up a more casual look for a fun night out.  Here, I simply styled it with a basic white t-shirt from Madewell, skinny jeans from Rag & Bone, grey booties and clutch from Ted Baker and tassel necklace from Stella & Dot.

Outfit #3

This next look has the perfect amount of sequins for something like an in-office holiday party or more conservative event where a dressy outfit isn’t necessary.

I layered this sequin embellished cardigan from J. Crew over a red charmeuse tank from Lafayette 148 and styled the pieces with a pair of plaid pants from Theory.  I finished the outfit with a basic pair of black booties from Marc Fisher, Rebecca Minkoff handbag and dangly earrings in black from J. Crew.

Outfit #4

This next outfit is a fun, casual look that is fun for getting together with friends casually over the holidays or just when you want to add a little glitz to an everyday look.  I styled this navy sequin blazer from Vince Camuto over a festive graphic t-shirt and frayed ankle length skinny jeans from MOTHER.  I finished the outfit with a pair of navy patent leather loafers, and orchid colored circle bag.

Outfit #5

Sequins don’t need to be worn on the body to have a huge impact.  I had a pair of glitter flats that I wore to death because that small bit of glitter went a long way.  I styled these sequin sneakers from Converse with relaxed joggers from Free People, a cashmere cable sweater from Theory and super cute moon and star hoop earrings from Madewell.
