Climate change is a reality we all have to face. The Getty Fire, rising tides, the garbage island, it can get really discouraging. At times it feels like we’ve already hit the tipping point. While I found myself googling ways to help victims of the Getty Fire (Seriously, when LeBron James drives him and his family all over LA trying to find an available hotel room during the fires, you know it’s BAD), and asking myself truly what can I do to help the planet?  As humans, we will always need to consume resources, but as guests, we need to be considerate about how we do it.

Bite Toothpaste Tablets

I’m always so cheered when I find a product or service that provides a simple and easy solution that can make a real difference for everyone.

Bite Toothpaste is a solution to a problem I never really thought about. It is estimated that every year roughly one BILLION toothpaste tubes end up in landfills.  Even small attempts to be more ecological can have a considerable impact on reducing waste and using Bite toothpaste tablets is an easy way to do that. Bite toothpaste also wants to be ecological when it comes to its ingredients. Yes, we spit toothpaste out, but, of course, we swallow some of our toothpaste. Many chemicals used in commercial toothpastes are not good for our bodies and not good for the environment. Bite toothpaste also makes sure it’s packaging is never plastic and always recyclable.

It’s easy to use. Pop tablet in your mouth, bite down and brush with a wet toothbrush. The tablet will foam up in a cleansing paste. You can choose from mint or activated charcoal.

You can set up a subscription service so you never have to worry about running out. It’s perfect for travel and eliminates another product for your liquids quart-size bag.  Keep them in your purse for times when your lunch is considerably more garlicky than you thought it would be.  For me, knowing the relationship-ending debate of squeezing the toothpaste in the middle vs. the bottom will never happen again makes it a worthwhile product.
