For many, going back to a physical workplace is not on the immediate horizon. In polling clients and discussing it with my Facebook Group members, few see themselves abandoning the endless Zoom meetings and a mid-casual style.
It got me thinking about how helpful it would be to not only create a mid-casual work capsule for working from home but one that is Zoom-friendly. As I have learned from my own Zoom meetings and getting feedback from others, the biggest focus of these work outfits is what happens on the top 1/3 of the body. Women are relying on a variety of tops, jewelry, and scarves with little interest in what they wear from the waist down. This capsule was created with that in mind.
Mid-Casual Capsule for Working From Home
This capsule has been built with a top-half focus and has been peppered with lots of necklaces, earrings and scarves. There are less pants in this capsule and more tops. I also focused on comfort and what is realistic. Even though we know that we’ll feel better when we put effort forth, when push comes to shove, majority of women will veer towards comfort. My goal with this capsule was to create one that doesn’t sacrifice on comfort or style.
30 Days of Looks
Another challenge I created for myself was to create enough outfits from this small grouping of pieces to create enough looks to last a month (okay, for months that have 30 days, not 31, to be exact.) Between the economic crisis, the lack of shopping available to us and the need that many women have to flesh out this mid-casual part of their wardrobes, getting less with more is important. So buckle in and check out all 30 looks below.
