Welcoming new members into my Facebook Group helps keep the atmosphere fresh with new voices and ideas, especially when a new person makes themselves right at home immediately. I can definitely say that about Luisa Maloof, this month’s Facebook Group Member of the Month. She fit right in posting photos of items she craved, outfits she felt were successes, and posing questions to the hive mind.
Her fabulous posts definitely put her on my radar and made me curious to learn more. I was thrilled when she agreed to be featured. So, let’s get to know her better, shall we?

Q: What do you like most about being a member of Bridgette’s Facebook Group?
A: Getting feedback and new idea inspiration from my fellow members and of course from Bridgette!
Q: The biggest benefits you have received from being a Group member
A: Making new friends! I feel like I definitely leveled up my wardrobe by joining this group!
Q: What would you tell women who haven’t joined the Group yet?
A: Please join! It’s fun and supportive! Also, your feedback is appreciated! The more members the more diverse our community!!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as sophisticated with an edge. I wear body-conscious tailored silhouettes and add some funk with cool shoes and boots, statement pieces, or trendy makeup.
Q: How did you discover your style?
A: When I was a preteen, my fabulous 20 something-year-old cousins from Milan would come to visit. It was the Era of Fiorucci and I fell in love with their clothing’s effortless elegance and unabashed sex appeal. I was hooked on fashion ever since!
Q: What advice do you have for others trying to find their style?
A: Have someone you trust give you honest feedback and if an item is not working for you just donate it, don’t clutter up your closet with unused stuff.
Q: What fashion issues are you currently struggling with?
A: I’m very petite, finding clothes made for women is a struggle. I just paid 55 dollars to tailor a pair of 40 dollar dress shorts.
Q: What are the most versatile items you have in your closet?
A: Blazers blazers blazers. I wear them for work, I wear them with leather pants, I wear them with jeans. I’m a blazer junkie! I just got a tan one from L’agence that I love!
Q: If you could go back and change the way you dressed in the past, what would you change?
A: I would have had more body confidence.
Q: Is there a fashion purchase you made that you found more useful than you thought it would be?
A: A colorful fabric handbag from Target that took me through a whole summer! On the bougie side, a pair of YSL tribute sandals..divine!
Q: What about a fashion purchase that you thought would solve all your problems, but didn’t?
A: Jeans…I have a million and none are exactly what I want!!
Q: How do you envision yourself when you look your best?
A: Cool designer skinny jeans or leather leggings, sky-high heels, preferably Stuart Weitzman Nudist or YSL tribute, and a cool blazer. I’m short so the heels make me feel powerful.
Q: What are your biggest fashion goals for the year?
A: To keep looking cool yet age-appropriate!!
Q: What is the best fashion advice you ever received?
A: Wear clothes that match your body type.
Q: The first thing you take off when you get home?
A: My clothes, and put on my workout clothes.
Q: Favorite color(s) to wear
A: Neutrals. browns, tans, gold, silver, green, purple, navy blue
Q: Favorite stores to shop?
A: WHBM, Lululemon, Bloomingdales, Zappos, L’agence, Revolve.
Q: What makes you happiest?
A: My 2 kids of course!

A: My friend Margaret, who left her VP job at Staples to become a stylist and who now flies all over the country giving seminars on personal branding and corporate image!!
