A few years ago, a client told me she only wore heels from ALLY (pronounced AL-eye) Shoes. At the time, I hadn’t heard of them, but my interest was piqued when she claimed they were the most comfortable heels she’d ever worn. After all, heels and comfort are rarely uttered in the same sentence.
With a whole client base of willing guinea pigs, I started casually suggesting ALLY, particularly to those with narrow or wide feet, a flexible budget, and a long-standing struggle to find stylish, well-fitting shoes. If you have narrow or wide feet, you know the struggle.
Even though I’d been recommending ALLY to clients, the brand stayed mostly under my radar—until they reached out via Instagram to see if I was interested in connecting. I jumped at the chance. I was curious to find out: Are they really as comfortable as they claim?
WHAT MAKES ALLY SHOES DIFFERENT
Samantha Dong founded ALLY Shoes after a foot injury left her unable to find heels that didn’t hurt. She partnered with designer Sara Jaramillo and podiatric expert Dr. Roxann Clarke to create stylish, pain-free heels designed for real feet.
Every pair of ALLY shoes features built-in arch support, suede lining, and a patented ergonomic support structure that blends podiatry with sneaker design. They’re constructed using stretch leather that maintains its shape while maximizing flexibility—no painful break-in period required. With sizes from US 4.5 to 12 and four width options, ALLY offers one of the most inclusive size ranges on the market.
What I appreciate most about ALLY is that they’ve managed to rewrite that equation entirely. These are shoes designed with comfort in mind from the inside out—yet they’re still elegant, sexy, stylish, and undeniably chic. You don’t have to choose between looking good and feeling good. With ALLY, you get both.

SHOES ON DEMAND: HOW TO FIND YOUR PERFECT FIT
One potential frustration? While the assortment of colors ALLY offers is robust, some sizes and widths aren’t kept in stock for every color and style, so you may need to place a custom order—which takes a few weeks. That said, ALLY makes it easy to find your perfect fit:
1. Visit a showroom – ALLY has locations in New York and Chicago:

3. Try the Trial Box – ALLY will ship you multiple sizes to try at home. (Note: This is only available for heels—not flats, loafers, or boots.)

MY HONEST REVIEW: ALLY’S CLASSIC PUMP

For my test drive, I chose the classic 3” pump in Tenacious Tan, a taupe-y beige that’s equal parts elegant and versatile. I don’t wear heels often, so I wanted one perfect pair—something that would go with everything and wouldn’t torture my feet on the rare occasions I actually need them.
I wasn’t expecting much. Comfortable heels? That bar is famously low. I assumed they’d be comfortable for heels, not in general.
But the moment I put them on—in front of my husband, no less—I said, “Wow. These actually are incredibly comfortable.”
What stood out first was the arch support, something practically unheard of in 3” heels. The interior was buttery soft, and despite the pointy toe, I didn’t feel cramped or squished. No rubbing, no pinching—just instant ease. I was genuinely impressed.
And coming from someone who was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis last year—and honestly thought her heel-wearing days were behind her—that’s saying something. While I credit medication for making it possible, I still never expected to find a pair of heels that felt this forgiving.
Of course, this was my experience, and everyone’s needs and comfort levels—especially when dealing with chronic conditions—can vary. But for me, ALLY delivered in a way I didn’t think was possible.

HOW TO STYLE ALLY SHOES: 5 POLISHED OUTFITS
One of the things I love most about ALLY shoes is how seamlessly they blend into a well-curated wardrobe. Whether you’re dressing for the office, a client meeting, or a summer event, these shoes can carry you comfortably through it all.
Here are five outfits featuring various ALLY styles that reflect just how adaptable and stylish these shoes really are:
#1 CLASSIC CAMEL AND BLACK: SLEEK OFFICE STAPLES

Perfect for a day at the office or a client-facing Zoom call, this look is equal parts classic and current. I styled these cognac ALLY City Loafers with tailored black trousers and layered a camel cotton-cashmere cardigan from Alex Mill over a simple silk tank from Argent. A cognac belt from Veronica Beard ties the look together, while a crystal-and-leather pendant from Roxanne Assoulin adds a subtle statement.
#2 POWER IN RED: THE WRAP DRESS REINVENTED

A red wrap dress is always a showstopper, and this one from Chiara Boni la Petite Robe is no exception. I paired it with ALLY’s classic pump in Tenacious Tan to ground the bold color with a soft, versatile neutral—striking the perfect balance between power and polish. Textured earrings from Devon Leigh and a simple gold station necklace by Adriana Orsini complete the look with just the right amount of professional sophistication.
#3 NAVY AND IVORY: CRISP, MODERN, AND REFINED

This tailored ensemble works hard without looking like it’s trying. I styled the soft grey ALLY flats with a structured sleeveless blouse from Theory and wide-leg ivory trousers from Me+Em. A navy belt from Tuckernuck adds definition, while minimalist square huggie hoops keep the accessories clean and modern. Perfect for long days when comfort is non-negotiable—but style still matters.
#4 SOFT FLORALS WITH A STRUCTURED TWIST

This ladylike floral dress gets grounded with navy block-heel pumps from ALLY, proving that comfort and style can live in the same sentence. To finish the look, I added a soft pop of pink with a multi-strand faux pearl necklace by Lele Sadoughi, blending vintage charm with modern ease.
#5 STRUCTURED LAYERS IN CREAM AND DENIM

This layered look blends tailored and textural elements in a palette that transitions effortlessly between seasons. ALLY’s block heels in Bronze Bliss add height with stability, making them ideal for presentations, meetings, or events where confidence and comfort are key. I styled the outfit with natural-toned pants from M.M. LaFleur, a crisp blue button-up from Ayr, and topped it with a denim vest from Veronica Beard. A cognac belt from Maje and a chunky link necklace from Nordstrom complete the look with polish and edge.
SHOES THAT FIT YOUR FEET AND LIFESTYLE
If you’ve all but given up on heels—or struggle to find shoes that fit your feet and your lifestyle—ALLY might just surprise you. They did for me. Thoughtful design, inclusive sizing, and an actually wearable heel? It’s not hype. It’s a shift in what’s possible for women who’ve been making comfort compromises for years. Whether you wear heels daily or only on occasion, ALLY proves you don’t have to choose between beauty and function.

Great post, Bridgette. Did you try the Ally “City Loafer”? If yes, what did you think about it comfort wise? I’m always on the lookout for comfortable loafers for travel. Hope all is well!
Thanks for this post! I ordered a pair of the silver pointy toe mary jane ballet flats and was pleased that they are both attractive and comfortable. The silver leather is soft. There is SO much interior padding and arch support but the shoes also look delicate. There are thoughtful details like a non-stick section of the heel and sole, but the edge of the heel/sole is leather (so it doesn’t look like you are wearing “comfort shoes”). Because of all the padding and arch support, I am able to wear them without an orthotic. This is the holy grail of dressy flat shoes! Having an orthotic makes it so limiting for fashion shoesI also tried the city loafer, which is a sleek loafer with slim adjustable straps. Again, they are incredibly well made but did not fit me quite right. I need a shoe that hits higher on the instep. Since all the shoes come in 4 widths, there are all kinds of possible fit options. These are definitely worth a try if you want comfortable, classic dressy shoes.
Hi Carol! Thanks so much for leaving this review of your experience with ALLY shoes. It is pretty amazing how much support and cushioning the shoes have given how fine and delicate the shoes are. This is something rarely seen. I love that you can wear them without orthotics. I will definitely pass this info off to my clients who need them. I have the City Loafer arriving this week so I will see how they work out for me. Thanks again for your review. I think readers will really find value in what you have said.
